Goal Getters and Self Made Kingz, established in 2018 and 2019 respectively, work directly with marginalized, racialized, and underserved youth by providing mentoring and educational resources. For youth who are more likely to experience negative life outcomes, these initiatives support educational achievement, social and emotional learning, mental health, and resource development. They connect youth with reliable and caring adults who can have a positive impact on the lives of youth who experience difficulties either in the community, at home or in school. Leaders and mentors within this program meet students where they are and create programming designed to support the students’ full potential as future leaders and great citizens of the community.
