The Champaign County Community Coalition (Community Coalition) is a network that aims to bridge police departments, civil rights- and racial justice-focused civic organizations, and local social service organizations. Since 2010 it has worked to foster dialogue between stakeholder groups, develop and innovate new programs to empower youth of color and their families, and “promote effective law enforcement and positive police-community relations.
The Community Coalition is comprised of a diverse group of people from every facet of the community. The group works every day to shape the community into a better place to live, work, play, and learn.
Vision
To provide a network of organizations and stakeholders that improve the lives of youth and their families resulting in youth who are empowered and safe, to promote effective law enforcement and positive police-community relations, and to support greater knowledge/use of the resources available.
Mission
To lead the process of analyzing and identifying the needs and strengths of the community at large and facilitating collaboration with an array of organizations to provide interventions to youth and families.
