The Champaign County Community Coalition hosted its monthly All-Goals Team Meeting on March 8. The meeting agenda was packed with eleven different speakers this month! Attendees heard local police department updates followed by a presentation from Urbana’s Mayor Diane Marlin about Urbana’s ARPA funding allocations.
April Faulkner (Equity and Engagement) previewed “Engage Champaign”, a new platform that allows residents to interact with community initiatives and projects. Unit 4 discussed truancy in schools and the importance of making school attendance, and therfore youth success, a communitywide issue. Attendees also heard from the That’s What She Said project – an empowering platform for women to tell their stories. Public Health and United Way discussed food insecurity in Champaign County and ways to work together to make food more accessible. And finally, the League of Women Voters introduced two students ambassadors who shared their experience working to increase voter registration at local high schools and how they have each grown through the experience.
